Aimee and Rob

I tend to dream big and, thankfully, Rob is good at being both supportive and rational. He usually prefers to stay out of the planning end of things but is wonderful at stepping forward and taking over on no notice- when plans, and then I, fall apart. The idea to travel full time started on our honeymoon but we expected to do it after children and retirement. We have since realized that life can be brutally short and do not want to put it off until it is too late.

Jade

Our younger daughter- “the baby girl”, Jade resolutely stands on the line between little girl and grown woman. She can’t wait to go to college and be on her own but will quickly tell you that she doesn’t want to grow up. She plans to major in Early Childhood Education but still has not decided where. The major is a good choice for her, as she is a pied piper with small children. When asked, she will adamantly refuse to take a gap year and travel with us but plans to meet us during school breaks.

Eli

Eli is wise beyond his years and has an absolutely wicked sense of humor. He makes jokes and statements on politics, pop culture, and conspiracy theories that mystify us. He is brilliant, sarcastic, and misses NOTHING. He is also one of the kindest human beings that I’ve ever known.

Ian

Ian is mercurial. He is often the quietest person in the family and will go off to the farthest corner to curl up with a book or his tablet. But he is also the only one in the family to actively seek out an audience and LOVES to be on stage. He can seem oblivious to his surroundings but has an attention span I can only dream of and when he speaks he can say profound things: “All people are alike- they all have the basic human desire to make a difference”.
